Hometown Heroes - The Real Celebrities
It started with the farm families of Cabot Creamery Cooperative who wanted to honor unrecognized, underappreciated hometown heroes. They set out to identify the people in communities up and down the east coast who make their cities and towns better places with no thought of personal gain or reward. With the help of local radio stations, Cabot called for listeners to nominate and select 20 of these Community Celebrities and on January 23rd will be taking them, along with a companion, on a 6-day cruise, courtesy of Cabot and Celebrity Cruises.
CommonKindness Joins In
Now CommonKindness.com has joined in the celebration. CommonKindness is a website that has created a grass-roots economic stimulus plan that gives back. It helps consumers, the charities they support, and the businesses they use every day. Using CommonKindness, consumers can save money by clipping discount coupons. Consumers use the coupons they find on the site to support their favorite charities and causes, with no added cost. The site also provides consumers extensive information about free community services available in their local areas.
Nominate a Hero in Your Community
Now CommonKindness is teaming with Cabot Creamery and Celebrity Cruises (that's a whole lotta C's!) so that you can sing the praises of your own Community Celebrity. Is there someone you know who works tirelessly for others, someone who spirit lifts those around her, someone who puts the needs of others before his own? Now you can nominate that special hometown hero to be a part of this amazing adventure of joyous and well-deserved recognition.
Go to the CommonKindness website and fill out the application to nominate your Community Celebrity. All entries are due by October 31 and seven winners will be chosen by November 12 and honored with a Celebrity Cruises trip for themselves and one guest, including airfare, January 23-28th, departing from Miami, Florida.
Don't you have a guiding star hero who deserves to shine for just a few days?
