Sara Lancaster describes herself as a novice sauce maker, Dipstock hostess, regular bacon eater, and Denver food lover. She is the Saucy Dipper. She blogs, she has a Facebook page and she Tweets about her dipping adventures.

All this is by way of explaining last night's fete. Taking up The Saucy Dipper's challenge to host my own Dipstock Party, I persuaded my Running Girls -- a group that has met at least once a month for the last 10 years to get their food on -- to make this meeting all about Dips.

It took so little time to put together three delicious dips. I just had to share the recipes in case you were planning a Dipstock of your very own.

First up...

Horseradish Cheddar with Applewood Smoked Bacon Dip

1 cup Cabot Sour Cream

1 cup Cabot Horseradish Cheddar, shredded

2 tbls dried onion soup mix

1 dash Worcestshire sauce

5 slices Applewood Smoked bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled

Combine all ingedients in a bowl, mixing thoroughly. I like to serve this with pretzel dipping sticks or those yummy thin, flat pretzels.

Next up was...

Black Bean and Chipotle Cheddar Dip

1 can black beans, drained and mashed

1 cup Cabot Chipotle Cheddar, shredded (you can use Hot Habanero Cheddar for an extra kick!)

2 tbls Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Juice of 1/2 lime

3 tbls salsa

2 tbls chopped cilantro (optional)

Mix all ingredients thoroughly and serve with your favorite tortilla chips. I like multi-grain, but any will do.

And last but not least...

Garlicky Dill Greek Yogurt Dip

1 cup Cabot Greek Yogurt

1 cup Cabot Sour Cream

1 cup crumbled Feta cheese

1 large clove garlic minced

3 tbls chopped dill

Salt and pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in food processor and pulse until thoroughly mixed. Serve with as many different kinds of veggies as you have in the fridge...carrots, celery, cucumber, snow peas, green beans, broccoli, peppers. This may have been the favorite of the evening.

I love my Running Girls. We've been working out together for so long, we're like a big extended, dysfunctional, fun family. Getting together for food and wine is something I always look forward to. And adding Dipstock to the mix...what a brilliant idea. Thanks, Saucy Dipper!
